Slitting is one of the oldest manufacturing processes.

A slitting line will take coils of metal, unwind them slit them into narrower strips of metal, and then recoil them or otherwise process the metal.

A slitter may be combined with shears, benders, press brakes, or other folding or cutting equipment to form an entire slitting line operation.
