Manufactured by Harrop Precision Furnace Company of Ohio, USA, this is a PUSHER PLATE TYPE FURNACE manufactured as model no. PPS-6-22320-300 and serial number 92277. The furnace was used to fire silicon carbide ceramic resistors in dissociated ammonia at temperatures up to 2400 deg. Fahrenheit. The load was placed on 4" x 6" saggers. The furnace is cycled by fully automatic pusher system. It is divided into four (4) zones: preheat, firing, natural cooling and water cooling. It includes the entrance transfer drive, entrance cross transfer, preheating and heating and natural cooling zones, water cooled section, exit cross transfer, return track and air-hydraulic system components. A blanket type gasket material is installed at the various flanged connections to provide atmosphere sealing. Primary electrical service is 230 volts, 3 ph, 60 hz and 60 amps. This furnace was originally designed for and installed in the Westinghouse Electric Co., Raleigh, NC facility in the USA and is now located in the Mohr Detroit, Michigan warehousing facility.
