Gear Drives: All gears and pinion shall be of steel and have cut teeth using the diametrical pitch system. Gears shall be completely covered. Assembly on shafts shall be with an A.S.A. Class 8 fit. Shafting: All shafts shall be of adequate diameter to transmit full motor torque at shaft speed. All keys shall be guarded. Bearings: Bridge axle bearings shall be MCB type. Trolley axle bearings shall be anti-friction. All other bearings shall be anti-friction. Footwalk: Crane to have metal footwalk extending the full length of the bridge on the drive side and continuous around the drive motor. Hand rail shall be 42” high with an intermediate member and shall include a bottom toe rail. If possible, footwalk shall allow 78” of headroom below roof trusses. End Trucks: The end trucks shall be welded steel and alike on both ends. They shall be provided with shock absorbing bumpers. A safety lug on the bottom shall limit the drop to one inch in case of wheel, pin, or track breakage. Wheel base shall be not less than one - seventh of the span. Track Wheels: Bridge wheels shall be 27” rolled steel R.T. Trolley wheels shall be 15” rolled steel R.T. Girders: Girders shall be of wide flange construction. Box girders shall have diaphragms spaced apart a distance equal to the girder depth with the top cover plate bearing on the diaphragms. Trolley bumpers shall be attached to the girders. Rails: Trolley rails shall be 60# Runway rails shall be existing by customer. Brakes: Bridge will be provided with shoe DC rectified brake to control crane under full load at full speed. Hoist shall have a shoe type DC rectified operated brake mounted on the motor shaft capable of holding 150% of the hoist motor torque. Lowering of load shall be controlled by eddy current type load brake. ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS Bridge to be painted one coat of primer and one coat of yellow machinery enamel. Crane capacity to be marked on bridge girder and on hoist bottom block. Power to hoist and trolley via cable festoon to provide positive electrical contact, and minimum maintenance.
